The sheer opacity allows natural light to flow through the room, while the room darkening blackout opacity minimizes exposure to sunlight and allows you to create darkness any time of day. These curtains are easy to care for, with instructions to hand wash cold with like colors, using only non-chlorine bleach as needed, line dry, and cool iron.
